Comparison
Bird on the left is definitely Common Buzzard, but after Evan mentioned the differences in the head, I went back to look at these again. This is a composite of the two birds, the one on the right possibly a Honey Buzzard at the same perspective and a slightly closer distance. Again not award winning photos but just for comparison.
On a related note this is exactly where the link road is going in that these were seen, a common place we see the Common Buzzard. For non local contacts you can probably google Hastings/Bexhill Link Road and see the massive controversy surrounding it, the council will have none of it about the destruction vs benefit, even the DOT said its not really cost effective for what it will provide and its adjacent to SSSI and Farms.
