Iron Slag from Brede High Woods

This little gem found in Brede High Woods evidence of the Iron works that went on here.
I don't know the history as well as Mike Jackson does so I hope he'll come and explain but apparently Iron works have gone on in this site since roman times, but this bit is more likely from the 17th or 18th century.
