Former Glasgow Herald Building, Mitchell Street, Glasgow

Former Glasgow Herald Building, Mitchell Street, Glasgow
The former Glasgow Herald Building, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, 1893-1895; the tower was apparently a water tower. The lower floors of the building were originally used for the printing presses and the newspapers were dispatched from platforms open to the street. The upper floors, which have less of an industrial feel about them, were used for the editorial and commercial side of the operation.

part of it has a Mckintosh exhibition in it but I'm afraid their didn't appear to be much left of the interior. Best wishes James
