It's made out of petrified wood and that's the joke. But here in the US I've posted pictures before of buildings that were over 500 years old. People lived here prior to Europeans arriving.

So your interesting comment caused me to research a few things last night which I think are interesting - I found myself wondering what the oldest human made artifacts in my photostream are - the Bighorn Medicine Wheel is about 800 years old: www.ipernity.com/doc/bro/album/798750

And Taos Pueblo is about 1000 years old: www.ipernity.com/doc/bro/album/464101

And then I started wondering what might the oldest human made structures be in the United States - I found this, but not sure they are the oldest:

It looks like some of these structures are 5000-6000 years old. Now I want to go visit some to photograph them.

More interesting stuff - I did some research about what might be close to me, and discovered a site with human artifacts from approximately 1400BC to 1070AD. I went and visited (it was hard to find, the location is a secret so that people don't collect artifacts). Look for some pictures in my photostream someday!
