Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park
The mountainsides are covered with trees killed by the pine bark beetle.

It has been a searingly hot summer here this year, and I am surprised we have not seen more fires burning through these dying forests.

The forests here are screwed until either all the trees die or it gets cold enough in the winter for several years to kill off the beetles.
