weird ocean thingy

There were several of these washed up on the beach at Waratah Bay. It had something like a bone all the way down. Apparently it's a "sea pen" from the order "Pennatulacea" (thank you Kylie for finding that our for me!) The orange end is the "bulbous peduncle" and the frilly bits on top are the polyps.It may be the Kidney Sea Pen (Sarcoptilus grandis) but have yet to positively identify it.
