das ist tatsächlich erstaunlich, denn die Brücke sieht wirklich so aus, als sei sie erst vor kurzem eingeweiht worden!!!

I'm just amazed at what must have been a hugely expensive railway being abandoned, presumably the maintenance costs must have been too high.

And one of the main reasons is that now not only a railway tunnel but also a road tunnel exists through the Andes....I think. Many thanks!
