Sugar mill "Patria o Muerte"
Sugar mill "Patria o Muerte" (former name "Patria") is no. 517 of Cuba and is now a museum. It was closed when we arrived, but somebody came and opened it for us, no other tourists were there. There are a lot of steam locomotives on display and the old machinery can also be visited.
MINAZ locomotive 1461 to the left was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1920 (construction no. 54247), wheels 2-8-0. MINAZ no, just 100 years old. 1836 to the right was built by Vulcan Iron Works (Wilkes-Barre) in 1922 (construction no. 3148), wheels 2-8-0. The locomotive worked at sugar mill "Orlando Gonzales" before.
