Brough Superior 1000cc "Works Scrapper" - 1927
This bike is a modified SS100 (such as my current 1930-project www.ipernity.com/doc/berny/47020976) built by Freddie Dixon and the Brough Superior Works. In 1927, Dixon took the bike, with a sidecar fitted, to lap Brooklands at over 100mph (160 km/h), the first outfit to do so. Later that year Dixon took it to Arpajon in France to make an attempt on the "World's Fastest" record. It reached 130mph (over 200 km/h) but could not make the return run due to mechanical problems. In 1929 famous Bert LeVack took the bike back to Arpajon and broke the record at 129.05mph.
In 1929 this was the "World's Fastest Motorcycle". The SS100 was the fastest serial bike at that time with guaranteed 100 mph or 160 km/h.

Tanja - Loughcrew club has replied to Berny clubUnique is its 'stand' one has to lower it to ground and pull the bike back to park, probably the side stands on which bike leans came much later?
