Pleasure for Retirees (2)
A friend of mine, ascending the fixed rope route Geierwand near Haiming (Tyrol, Austria) last summer. He was 69 at that time. (The picture shows the entry of the via ferrata. Although it's completely vertical there, the difficulty is classified as "B" only, because of the many iron steps, which facilitate the ascent enormously.)

Ein Freund beim Aufstieg in der Geierwand bei Haiming (Tirol, Österreich) im vergangenen Sommer. Er war zu der Zeit 69 Jahre alt und auch schon mit auf der Zugspitze. (Das Bild zeigt die Einstiegsstelle des Klettersteigs. Obwohl es hier völlig senkrecht hoch geht, ist diese Stelle nur mit "B" klassifiziert, weil die Menge des verbauten Eisens den Aufstieg ziemlich einfach macht.)
