Fleet Street Fire ...
A little more from the 'processing room' just for fun which I hope you like.
This time the background image was sourced from Relaunch UB here on ipernity and a clickable copy of this can be found in the Notes.
The fiery overlay is my own and created from a shot I took recently of a rusted old barrel I came across whilst out walking. Again, you'll find a copy in the Notes.
As ever, if you have time, please view on black for best effect.
For those that may not be UK based or are fairly young it's perhaps worth mentioning that Fleet Street is a major street in the City of London. It became known for printing and publishing at the start of the 16th Century and by the 20th century most British national newspapers operated from there.
However, much of the industry moved out in the 1980s after News International set up cheaper manufacturing premises in Wapping utilising new technologies. Despite that the term "Fleet Street" continues to be used as a metonym for the British national press.

Hard to believe that was about 38 years ago.
My nephew was born within the Square Mile of the City of London(bro was a Fireman living at the old Whitefriars Fire Station) you looked out those windows and into the prnting rooms of the papers.. that was before they all decamped. Tim was christened at St Brides.. the church of the Press.... Wren's "Wedding Cake" church
