Rubber Dub Dub ...
Taken a few days ago for this week's Sunday Challenge, but which I'm afraid I'm only getting around to posting today ... late again!
The theme this week was different angle or altered perspective. In other words you were to shoot something you might normally shoot, but in a different manner to that you'd normally do or to highlight an aspect of the subject that you might normally ignore or not feature.
Now as regular visitors to my photostream know I'm mad about cars and so most of the images I post are of things automotive and a great many of the shots I take are of my old Mk2 Scirocco.
I'll shoot almost anything to do with cars, from overall shots through to detail shots of the badges, radiator grilles, chrome trim, paintwork, engines and even the interiors. One thing though that I don't think I've ever shot before are car tyres so for this week's challenge that's exactly what I set out to do.
When I bought my Scirocco she already came with a set of MOMO Arrows fitted, but I also got the original steel wheels with tyres so I dug them out of storage, fitted my macro lens to the old Nikon and set to work.
The wheels themselves provided an opportunity to create some interesting abstracts, but in the end I decided to use a shot of just one of the tyres as my main entry.
Probably best viewed large to fully appreciate the texturing ... so why not hit z and see what you think?
