Problems With Google Chrome

Problems With Google Chrome
My browser of choice up till now has always been Google Chrome. However, over the last few days I've been having real issues with it in particular how it displays (or not as the case may be) some text fonts.

On some sites the problem is minor and the text just looks a little raggedy. However, on some others text has become almost illegible.

I've now spent hours online looking at old forum postings etc from people who have had similar problems with earlier versions of Chrome, but so far none of the so called fixes have helped.

So, in desperation I thought I'd flag up the problem here to see if anyone else on ipernity is having the same trouble and if so to ask if they've found a fix that works.

The above is a composite screen shot I've knocked up to try and show what's happening. The left hand side of the red line is how that particular forum post appeared when viewed using Internet Explorer. The right hand side is how it is now displaying when viewed using Google Chrome.

Hope someone can help. I tried reporting it to Google themselves, but apparently they get so much 'feedback' (that's complaints to you and I) to enter into personal correspondence.

Heaven help us when they get those driverless cars on the road!

I can't say that I've seen this problem, but Chrome sure uses way too much memory!

I'd noticed that too Norm, but was willing to work around that, but this thing with how it displays text is almost making it unusable! :(

Out of interest which browser are you using?

I'm still using Chrome at home at the moment, but I use Firefox at work. I plan to look into something new soon though. I originally went to Chrome because it worked better when I originally moved my photos from Flickr to here.

Yeah, I seem to remember the flickr revamp had something to do with me switching too! :(

I also seem to remember that when i tried using Frefox many moons ago I kept getting messages coming up to with cookies or something like that. Does it run seamlessly for you nowadays Norm?

Which operating system are you using? I'm still hanging on to XP. My good scanner is not supported by Windows 8. Firefox works better with Windows 8 than it does with XP. I need to upgrade it at work, but it works fine otherwise. You might find this page interesting:

Work held on to using XP until just recently and I tried to keep both systems compatible. I had Vista on another computer, but I really didn't care for it.
