a leaf from my lemon tree which will soon go into hibernation

As soon as the leaves fall from the trees again in all colors and dew covers the ground in the morning, autumn has arrived and summer is relegated to hibernation.

In autumn, trees and other plants lose their leaves, the increasingly shorter days and cooler temperatures trigger an aging process.

The green leaves in summer provide plants with glucose and oxygen, which they need.
When the green color disappears, the other color pigments that were previously covered by chlorophyll appear: Yellow, red and brown dominate the autumn color spectrum.
