The Square Kauri a very special tree

The Square Kauri is an approximately 1,200 year old Kauri tree (Agathis australis). it belongs to the 15th largest Kauri. one side of the square measures about 2.5 meters
Its unusually square trunk means that it is not cut down.

It looks as if it's made up of 4 separate trees - but to be actually square is something I've not heard of
