Empire State Building

They say you can identify first-time visitors to Manhattan by the way they relentlessly look up and may even run into trash cans and mailboxes. This cannot be completely dismissed, especially if you come directly to Midtown via Penn Station and leave the station under Madison Square Garden.

No, I've never been up there. And there is a reason for that. It's the Empire State Building, but when you're up there, you don't see it. And the price is high, currently at least $44.
But I have been to Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock) for at least $34 and a wonderful view of Central Park and Manhattan with the Empire State Building and to the One World Observatory with a view over the Upper Bay.
