For Catholics, Orthodox Christians and in the Anglican Church, the Ascension Day is a celebration of Jesus' return to his Father in heaven. "The "Ascension of Christ" is part of the original Christian faith" In the three days before the holiday there are petition processions in Catholic communities. The processions lead across the fields with a cross, asking for a good harvest. Ascension is the little feast between the two great ones: Easter and Pentecost. The girls and boys in white First Communion (also known as First Holy Communion) is one of the introductory sacraments (initiation sacraments) of the Catholic Church, along with baptism and confirmation.
