Corgis sind Hunde walisischer Herkunft, deren Name "Zwergenhund" bedeutet. Sie haben kurze Beine und wurden früher dazu eingesetzt, Kühe oder andere Nutztiere zu hüten. Ihre Technik bestand darin, die Tiere in die Kniekehlen zu zwicken um sie so dazu zu bringen, weiter zu laufen.

Ich fuhr zurück - 1 Woche lang - von Folsom - nahe Sacramento, Cal.,- immer an der Küste entlang, state 101, mit Abstechern ins Innere ... allein mit diesen zwei Hunden meines Bruders. Da der Eine ein Langhaar war ...aber der Rot-Braune auch nicht die kürzesten Haare hatte, nahmen sie am Strand, wenn herumtollten immer sehr viel Sandkörner auf :- ((((
