Nisqually Glacier
Der Nisqually Glacier ist einer der größeren Gletscher im südwestlichen Teil des Mount Rainier im US- Bundesstaat Washington .
Der Nisqually Glacier ist gegenwärtig ungefähr 4-5 Meilen (6,44 km-8,5km) lang und ist ungefähr 400 Fuß (122 m) tief an seinem tiefsten Punkt.
Derzeit "fließt" er während des Sommers den Berg abwärts, etwa 6-12 cm pro Tag.
Der Gletscher entspringt auf dem 14.000-Fuß-Niveau (4.267,2 m ü N.N.) des Berges in einer permanenten Schneezone.

leider hatte ich die 2 Hunde meines Bruders dabei und konnte sie nicht über viele Stunden allein im Auto lassen, sodaß meine Zeit der Wanderung begrenzt war. Es war verboten sie mitzunehmen - auch nicht an der Leine ! Aber so hatte ich auch etliche Begenungen mit Wildtieren...

Unfortunately I had the 2 dogs of my brother with me and could not leave them alone in the car for many hours, so my time of the hike was limited. It was forbidden to take them - not on a leash! But now without the dogs I had also a lot of encounters with wild animals ...
