2014 Drymonia dodonaea (Marbled Brown)

Notodontidae, Notodontinae. Wingspan: 42mm.

This species is very like the "Kitten" sub-group, in size and general wing pattern, but the caterpillar is very much a "normal" green one with a pale yellow line down the sides, just like many Noctuidae species. It usually occurs where there are established Oak (Quercus) woodland, and is more likely to be found towards the east of Cornwall.
