Two Guys, Board with a Washtub

Two Guys, Board with a Washtub
A photo of an old-fashioned chore for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.

Or maybe these fellows are actually bored with this washtub and washboard as they pose with them for humorous effect. From an unused real photo postcard with no postmark or message.

Thankfully, hand washing clothes in a tub is an outmoded task, and other onerous chores—like cleaning rugs by beating them or cutting grass with a push-powered reel mower (see below)—have also become unnecessary.

I sometimes use a push mower I have in the shed when I'm wanting to be environmentally friendly cutting the grass. Don't, beat rugs or use a washboard however! 8-D

These are wonderful, Alan! I was beginning to think I would be alone in posting this week!
Growing up in England, my family did not have a washing machine, and I actually remember my mother scrubbing on a washboard. (And then putting clothes through the wringer. We all knew stories of naughty children who didn't listen and got their hands accidentally "wrung". )
I also had a push mower in the 90s. We have about half an acre and I mowed a little every day. I've never been a gym enthusiast, but for those few years I had the best upper body strength of my life!
