Weevil

The tiny weevil that I found in a packet of watercress, still alive and well, here taken at 7x magnification.
Stiperstones in winter.

The Stiperstones blanketed in snow. The lines of stones are all that remains of the walls that defined the small paddocks and meadows of an old field system. The stones were cleared from the land to make it usable and then stacked to form the field boundaries. These areas are now home to rich variety of wild flowers and interesting fungi.
