Onward Ranch near Williams Lake, BC

“It will always go onward” were the words of Charles Eagle when describing his ranch lands in the heart of the San José Valley. Charles Eagle was granted this land in 1883 next to the St. Josephs Mission Ranch and called the newly acquired land the Onward Ranch. Prior to that St. Josephs Mission Ranch was established from land pre-empted in 1860 by the Oblate Bros. Through the century, smaller titles were purchased and some sold, until 1964 when the two holdings became one when the Oblate Bros. purchased what was left of the Onward Ranch. The new ranch now became the Mission Onward Ranch. Since then several owners have bought and sold the Mission Onward and now the ranch totals over 7500 acres with 36 separate titles.
