L. Mundet & Sons was located in Quinta dos Franceses, in the municipality of Seixal.
The factory was founded in 1905 and quickly became the largest exporter of cork in the world.
However, competition from plastic products led to the closure of L. Mundet & Sons in the late 1980s.

"HERE MORALS PUNISH MAN"
Built in 1825, it was rebuilt and renovated in 1842, according to a design by the architect Fortunato Lodi.
In 1862, the theatre was practically destroyed by a fire that occurred on 9 September, with only the façade being spared.
In the 21st century, the studios of Gonçalo Byrne Arquitectos and Barbas Lopes Arquitectos carried out the project to restore the building
