Build near the ruins of a Dominican Monastery, inside the walls of Moura Castle, it was called Saint Dominique Church, but was widely known as Church of the People.

It was initially a convent of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God (in the 17th century). As hotel, it is busy for 125 years. It is located at Gago Coutinho Square, Moura.
