Here, at Mancelos cemetery, lies the painter who died in 1918 at the age of 30, victim of the pneumonic flu pandemic.

The painter's mother died in 1954, after carrying 36 years of grief for her son's death, being buried very near from him, at Mancelos cemetery.

Former house of Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso.
This house at Manhufe was where the painter was born in 1887 and lived until the age of 18. After moving to France he only came there occasionally to see his family. Now it is private property (no longer of the painter's family) and all we can see is from outside the entrance line.
