44 tanks to freeze water (1741-1782).

These tanks with shallow water allowed it to freeze, for subsequent preparation and trading. They are part of the ancient Royal Ice Factory, at Montejunto Sierra.

How far is it from here to Lisbon?and how long did it take?

It's about 70 km far from Lisbon - 1 hour 15 minutes or so (crossing villages and climbing winding mountain roads diminish global speed average). We passed there as we returned from Lourinhã and still made a stop at Cadaval, the head of municipality.
