Cenotaph in Front of City Hall

"We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future." George Bernard Shaw The Sunday Challenge: The Future I think that this quote illustrates the image well as it ties together a cenotaph, the memorial to our horrible past, and a City Hall, a democratic institution where decisions about the future are formed.

Gutter Art

15 Oct 2016 12 16 485
TSC: Random locations combining four photographs I walked to each corner of the block I live on. There was a lot of gutter activity due to recent snows and near 0C temperatures. The water was draining under each grill but the leaves were doing their best beaver dam efforts.

16 Dec 2016 19 20 573
The Sunday Challenge - What makes you cheerful. When the sun comes out in the winter it is always a time for cheer since we get less than 7.5 hours a day of sunlight. Here is our sun at high noon with the ice crystals on a -20c day creating sun dogs.
