"We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future."
George Bernard Shaw
The Sunday Challenge: The Future
I think that this quote illustrates the image well as it ties together a cenotaph, the memorial to our horrible past, and a City Hall, a democratic institution where decisions about the future are formed.

TSC: Half Light, whatever that means.
Dusk is giving way and the street lights bring accents to the scene.

This sculpture named Return, 2001, in cast aluminum. Artist: Catherine Burgess. Three columns interdependent upon each other to support itself and grow higher. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each column is symbolic for three service organizations that enrich cultural life in Edmonton.
See note for entire sculpture.

No processing to create the wrinkles. The siding on the office building did that all on its own.

TSC: Random locations combining four photographs
I walked to each corner of the block I live on. There was a lot of gutter activity due to recent snows and near 0C temperatures. The water was draining under each grill but the leaves were doing their best beaver dam efforts.

Saturday Self-challenge: Frame with a frame.
The challenge in this photo was to find an opening with two attached but separately whirling yard features. They were both moving at the time.
I have an archived photo that fits the theme in the notes.

The Sunday Challenge - What makes you cheerful.
When the sun comes out in the winter it is always a time for cheer since we get less than 7.5 hours a day of sunlight. Here is our sun at high noon with the ice crystals on a -20c day creating sun dogs.
