Social Distancing

Social Distancing
Saturday Self-challenge: Architecture

PIP is a more interesting building in our city. It is a swimming pool.

I found a great place to socially distance myself this morning. The low sun was casting long shadows. Here is a condominium in my neighbourhood. We live in the suburbs and everything looks like this.

It is the second day of Spring and it was -11C and felt like -18C. It will warm up to just over 0 today.

Billathon, Nouchetdu38, Sami Serola (inactive), Gabi Lombardo and 16 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very clever framing, Pappy, and a good choice of building too.

I can't believe how cold it is still. You must be ready for spring by now.

Wow, that Pip is really cool looking! I hope the pool is heated. ;-)

It was opened in 1970 and is still one of the best buildings in Edmonton.

Das Tor ist ein toller Rahmen.
Aber -11 und … Frühling?!
Bei mir waren es letzte Woche bis zu 20+
So etwas wie einen Winter hatten wir nicht wirklich.
Irgendetwas stimmt da doch nicht

Nice idea to frame it like this and what a fantastic building for a condominium! Like you, I find myself using and noticing past challenge techniques more than I ever used to.

it looks like the balconies were added to the building later. They are somehow a foreign body. But the soccer goal matches the balconies perfectly. Well taken!

The balconies likely were added later. It is a mostly wood construction, not a brick in it.

Ah, interesting! Slowly the value of wood as a construction material is beginning to be appreciated more in architecture.
