The clock was a purchase in my college days. It's battery operated, and to start it after changing the battery one twirls a knob on the back. We found that if we twirled the knob the opposite way, the clock would run backwards, so we did, and became good at telling accurate time from it that way.
The dog is a wooden sculpture crafted by a late brother in law.
