Mostly they are, as far as inside situations like shopping, because pretty much everywhere you have to wear a mask, so it's the "new normal" (and will be for some time.)

Well, as it happens it is true that ventilated masks let out your breath/virus.
I'm lucky because I work for a top medical/research institution, so I hear about the science as it happens. It's true that there were a lot of things we didn't know about this virus originally, but much has been learned.

Those are fine, though from an environmental perspective, I prefer reusable masks myself.

Thank you! There is a lot of evidence that masks in fact protect both, though more the other than yourself (depending a bit on the mask.) Either way, we better get used to it, because there's no other way we can stem this pandemic.
