POSTCARD

Date: Not evident. Unposted.

Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified

Notation: This building, the first central temple for Winnipeg's Independent Order of Oddfellows, was located at 293 Kennedy Street. It was formally opened on April 21, 1910.

Further information on the Temple can be found at: www.winnipeg.ca/ppd/historic/pdf-consv/The%20Promenade%20-long.pdf

This is an odd postcard. I think I have another one like it - obviously a lithograph of a Real Photo postcard with no attribution to the photographer. The reverse side is very simple - just POST CARD in block letters at the top centre and a single vertical line dividing the space below it.

Right. I forgot to mention that. From Christian Cassidy, here is a link to more about the Temple an its incorporation into Portage Place. winnipegdowntownplaces.blogspot.ca/2010/01/downtown-places-66-promenade.html
