Das interessante ist, dass diese Strassenbiegung genau um einen kreisförmigen Platz (Royal Circus) angelegt ist - mit hochherrschaftlichen Bauten. Der Stadtteil wurde als New Town wohl auf dem Reissbrett streng geometrisch entworfen - siehe Stadtplan.
Im Foto sieht man dagegen eher einfache Behausungen, da liegt die Vermutung nahe, dass es sich dabei um die damaligen Dienstbotenwohnungen handelt.
Heute ist das natürlich eine angesagte Wohngegend.

Typische Stadthäuser….da würd ich immer soo gerne mal in die Häuser gucken:-)

Wunderhübsch! Diese bescheideneren Reihenhäuschen kosten heute sicher auch so viel, dass ein Normalmensch sich die nicht mehr leisten kann... Verspäteten HWW!

As far as housing is concerned, Edinburgh is one of the most expensive cities in the UK. Our middle daughter and her husband managed to buy a bungalow in the Trinity area of the city 20 odd years ago. They have built dormer bedrooms with views over the Firth of Forth, there is a substantial back garden overlooking a sports field so it's unlikely to be built on, all the other rooms have been improved beyond measure now, so it must be worth a fortune.

Oh, they did well to buy when they did!
I couldn't afford to buy my flat today, the area has undergone gentrification and prices have exploded. I guess it's the same in all sought after cities and regions.
