das habe ich bei meinen Stadtrundgängen schon bewundert -sehr viele Gebäude sind
in diesem soliden Stil aus Sandstein erbaut.

"Die meisten älteren Gebäude Edinburghs bestehen aus lokalem Sandstein , der an 20 Standorten innerhalb der Stadt abgebaut wurde. Es handelt sich dabei meist um einen hellen oder grauen Quarzsandstein."

Habe jetzt gelernt, dass Edinburghs Stadtkern seit 1995
zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe gehört - das freut den Gruppenadmin ; )
