Mountain goat family, Sierra de La Cabrera below Canchos Gordo and Largo, and high above the Meseta.

I know I've posted this before but I fell upon it by chance again and thought it worth another airing! I would ordinarily have gone straight ahead at this point, over the foreground granite slab but I thought better of it. Later, as I looked back at the goats, I saw a nanny goat suckling its kid, not something I could see from here. Unfortunately no photo was possible as it was in direct line with the sun! This video is worth a look!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG9TMn1FJzc

Punky says hello!

Punky feels at home in his new kitchen. He would also like you to admire his new hairstyle! I bought Punky years ago in a tiny pottery shop in Fore Street, Penryn, Cornwall and he had a different (smaller) cactus at that time. That one soon suffered from alopaecia and this is Punky's new hair. He is very proud of it!

Erzgegebirgsbahn in Neudorf/Erz.

Old Ruta 40

Legendary Ruta 40 in all its unsurfaced glory in 2003. These days travel on the surfaced and partially rerouted road is much faster and much more boring.... In the note a Calafate shrub (berberis buxofolia) with berries. It is said if you eat the berries you will return to Patagonia- it's true!
