svr[24] - 60532 at Kidderminster Town

60532 stands ready at Kidderminster Town, Severn Valley Railway after a 22-year hiatus, since she last steamed at the North York Moors Railway. Something of a surprise to me as the SVR wasn't operating service trains at the time. . further info ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNER_Peppercorn_Class_A2_60532_Blue_Peter

Mühlsteinbruch (div PiP)

Between 1489 and 1860, millstones and grinding stones were cut here with pointed irons and chisels. Workers drove blocks of beech wood into the holes and doused them with water. The water caused the wood to swell and the stones were blown off the wall. Dynamite didn't exist back then. The Innschifferei* transported this highly sought-after 'Beuerer product' and carried it all over the world.
