This painting has been hanging in my great greatmothers parlour. I couldn't find out anything about the painter, he must have been regional and the picture probably is from the early 20th century. The scene depicted is tyical of farmhouses in SW Germany as I knew them as a kid.

When my many cousins were distributing my grandmother's possessions the first things to go were those pieces of art, all reproductions, that hung in her home. When we grow up with those images they sink deep into our souls. I am not surprised this one resonates with you.
