SSC: What we love about Christmas

I love the smell and taste of good traditional Christmas bakery:-) I didn't make much this year, just the following which involved quite a bit of fiddly work, but it's worth it! The notes are clickable:

Yum, yum, yum. Everything turned out beautifully. I love the warm, yellow color. The bottom one looks like a cake or bread.

Thanks a lot, Karen! The yellow comes from having to use up the left over egg yolks. Many recipes use only the whites so it's good to have a few using the yolks;-) The bottom one is a traditional fruit bread.

Da warst Du ganz schön fleißig. Ich habe einen Nachmittag die klassischen Ausstechplätzchen mit dem Kind gebacken. Aber mehr aus Pflichtgefühl ... Das Backen überlass ich lieber anderen :)

Dank dir, Chrissy! Das Schnitzbrot hatte ich schon im November gemacht und eigentlich wollte ich auch nichts mehr backen. Aber dann kan die BItte, bei unserem guten Bäcker ums Eck bestimmte Sorten zu besorgen und ausgerechnet die waren schon ausverkauft... Also habe ich mich überwunden;-)
