Johanneskirche am Feuersee

Saturday Self Challenge: Vintage/Retro - take a new photo of your choice and make it look like it's from an earlier era

This neogothic church was built 1864-76, looking over a fire water pond.
I used a vintage filter in Color Efex Pro, then desaturated further and added more film grain, sepia tint and a frame.

The 1st inset was done using Silver Efex Pro with the "old photographic plate" filter,

the 2nd inset shows the original photo.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! The pond makes for a good foreground which helps with photos.
Playing around with Nik filters is for a rainy day;-) There are also tutorials on the pages I linked though I admit I hardly ever use them even if I get stuck;-)

Neogotik unterscheidet sich eigentlich nur darin von echter Gotik, dass es zu perfekt ist, um ganz alt zu sein;-) Die echten gotischen Kirchen haben doch meist irgendwelche Bauteile aus früheren oder späteren Epochen.

Das ist schon sehr erstaunlich, welche Verfremdungseffekte mit diesen NIK-Filtern möglich sind.
Im Vergleich zum Original ergibt sich eine völlig andere Stimmung. Der Vintage-Effekt überzeugt.

Schönen Dank, Heidi! Für Vintage musste ich ja irgendwie auch diese 50er-Jahre Gebäude aus dem Bild bekommen bzw. abmildern, da half die Vignette im Filter sehr:-)
