Aurora over Nærøysund bridge

Aurora over Nærøysund bridge
Northern lights started around 9.30 p.m. at Rørvik, this was taken at 10 p.m. sailing south through Nærøysund ( Kp-index 5-6) . Also see inset picture!
Some time after midnight the Kp-index rose to an insane 8-9. The auroras began flickering like disco lights, moving incredibly fast- impossible to photograph anymore.

Beautiful aurora Gudrun. The green contrasts nicely with the deep purple of the sky. The bridge gives an idea of the scale of the aurora.

Thanks a lot, George! In the southern hemisphere it's not as easy to reach regions where you can easily see the aurora...we Europeans are lucky in that:-)

Danke, Ko! Das war die Nacht, wo man die Lichter bis weit nach Mitteleuropa gesehen hat.
Als später der Kp-Wert auf 8-9 stieg, hat alles nur noch in einem Wahnsinnstempo geflackert, ich habe sowas noch nie erlebt!
