West Central NV2 01
Set out to complete the trip in which our vehicle broke down last year, resuming at Bridgeport and FS 046 past lower portions of Masonic. It's still standing! One of the better untouched sites we've discovered.
West Central NV2 02
Upper Masonic CA high in the Bodie Hills to pitch camp, then on to the new stuff.

Took FS 046 over into Nevada, FS 028 east to Fletcher site, then south on Bodie Road with a detour to Aurora site.

Cool rock bluffs appear as we approach the old mining district.

Aurora had a population of 10,000 in its heyday. Noting but scattered debris in the brush. We struck out on this one.

Took Lucky Boy pass to Hawthorn NV, east on HWY 95, south on SR 360, then this dirt road west to Marietta NV.

This valley is also home to the Marietta Wild Burro Range.

We didn't spot any burros. As the sign says, they must all be shading over by the spring in mid summer.
