Desert / Ghost Town Trek #12

After moving to Reno to be closer to desert getaways, we ironically spent more time job hunting and worrying about our careers than taking any trips. I tagged along last minute with one of Andrew's geology group outings to check out Black Rock Playa.

My first experience driving 60 mph on the playa was a little intimidating.

As you probably know, this is the site of "Burning Man." I'm not really into that, so it was nice to see the place in this natural state. This is why I like the desert, not to drop some gigantic commercialized city into it.

There were small groups like ours here and there, so it wasn't completely vacant.

I drove off by myself for a while to really soak up the solitude.
