Even though I left camp at 7am, the long drive and extra miles worked against me, and I worried about getting back to camp before dark. This was my first experience hiking over 10,000 ft, and at 13,400 started feeling the effects of the altitude. The remainder of the hike was short but straight up to 14,200, so I called it a day. I will return with better planning, and make it to the top, in 2009!
