HMS Victory

HMS Victory
HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759 and launched in 1765. She is best known for her role as Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. The masts were actually much higher, you see here only the lower part. This ship is incredible big and powerful, I can imagine that only its appereance made the enimies run.

Thanj tou for reminding me of the meantime.
Wish you all the best for 2019.

Interesting notes and comments, as well as such a good photo. I wasn't aware that the masts were taller, just as I wasn't aware of this colouring (Jose's comment). It was all black when I visited with a school party in 1969!
