Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens
An old lens from Canon's film camera days. It has its origins in the FD mount. The optical scheme was translated across to the EOS system in 1987 and remained in production until 1994. It has a trombone zooming action. On a crop sensor camera the field of view goes from 55mm to 170mm. The fashion photographer Erik Madigan Heck favours this lens, which I discovered after buying one. Modern bolts have been used to ensure this street sign stays anchored to the wall. Of course this kind of unsympathetic maintenance can be undone and something more in keeping provided, but it may take many years for that to be realised. We are living through an age of indifference to our surroundings as we retreat increasingly behind tech screens. The squalor in this town is an eyesore.
Polebarn Road derives its name from the local pronunciation of 'Paul'. The road once led to Paul's barn.
