How strange. I took a very similar picture yesterday and immediately thought of the late, great George Carlin quote: “I like it when a flower or a little tuft of grass grows through a crack in the concrete. It's so ******' heroic.”

I like your shot. The grass is refusing to be overpowered by the built environment. Good luck, little plant.

Without humans holding back vegetation, it would not be long before the built environment was clothed in shades of green. Animals and plants are our rivals. Admire them by all means, but be careful to keep sentiment in check.

I have a problem with bindweed in my small plot. It is a merciless plant and never gives in. I have not however resorted to toxic chemicals, so perhaps it can be beaten.
I never heard of George Carlin until now. He sounds quite remarkable.
