In The Beginning
Nikon D2Xs with a 40 + years old Nikkor 50mm f/2 AI lens. Lens made in Japan sometime between March 1977 and January 1979. Sometimes referred to as the "Japanese Summicron". I bought it in February 2019 and subsequently got rid of my Nikkor AI 50mm f/1.8. The earlier version is better. It cost me £49 and it's fabulous. A few months later I bought a Nikkor-H 50mm f/2 dating from 1971 and subsequently modified to AI standard. No coating on this one, and it doesn't focus quite as close yet it is also sublime.
