Are You Worthy?
People leave messages, ribbons, and trinkets in the trees at Avebury. Once I found a silver half U.S. dollar wedged in a fold in the bark (I left it where it had been put if you're wondering). These things are known as votive offerings, or litter for short (maybe not the half dollar).
