The EOR - Epping Ongar Railway held an 'End of Tube' event, 26-28th September 2014 in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the closure by London Transport of the Epping to Ongar Railway. To recreate the atomsphere of the former Underground line, preservation group - Cravens Heritage Trains provided the 1960 Tube stock that was used on the last day of service 30.9.1994. As the line is no longer electrified, London Underground provided 4 Schoma diesels for propulsion. The Cravens set propelled by LTE Schoma diesels No.s 3 'Claire & 12 'Melanie' pass through the Essex Countryside with the 1225 North Weald to Ongar service on the 27.9.2014.

'Crompton' - Class 33/0 33035 (visitor - Barrow Hill.) hauls the 2M49 1657 Peterborough NV. to Wansford service, passing Castor in sharp Autumnal light, on the first day of the annual Autumn Diesel Gala 2014.

Type 3 - Diesel Hydraulic 'Hymek' D7017 (adorned with the 'CHELTENHAM SPA EXPRESS' headboard) cruises through the lush meadows of Bicknoller, Somerset with the 1545 Bishops Lydeard to Minehead service during their mixed traction Weekend on the 31.8.2014

Class 45/1 No. 45133 (visitor from Midland Railway-Butterley) hauls the 0900 Dereham to Wymondham Abbey service passing Crownthorpe 'MNR' - Mid-Norfolk Railway on the 29.8.2014. The first day of the annual three day 'Late Summer' Diesel Gala.

West Somerset Rly. visitor - Hymek D7017 approaches Greet Tunnel with 2L70 1330 Cheltenham Racecourse to Laverton Loop service during the 'Gloucestershire Wawickshire Heritage Diesel Weekend' on the 25.7.2014

'DBS' - Deutsche Bahn Schenker, pioneer class 66/0 No. 66001 hauls the 6L40 0915 (0925) Mountsorrel to Kennett 'loaded Aggregate' (18 PAA's & 4 JGA's), passing Stuntney on the 1.7.2014.

Colas Type 5 - Class 56087 hauls the 6E07 0600 Washwood Heath to Boston Docks 'empty steel carriers' (20 IHA's) passing Wilsford on the 26.6.2014.

With the Summer Solstice with us ...Class 47580 'County Of Essex top & tailed by WCRC 47851, form Nenta Train Tours 1Z40 0635 Dereham 'MNR' to Scarborough charter, passing Kimberley Park 'MNR' in glorious June light.

Turn up for the books ...DB Schenker Class 60 No. 60062 'Stainless Pioneer' powers the 6M86 1533 (1658) Ely Papworth Sdgs. to Peak Forest Cemex Sdgs. 'Empty Aggregate' - passing Pymoor on the 12.6.2014. They say ...With absence the heart grows fonder !

'NNR' - North Norfolk Railway Type 3 D6732 top 'n' tails Colas 37219 in a surprize change to the schedule, replacing Brush Type 2 D5631. Shame the combo couldn't have been reversed, 37219 erupting into life with plenty of 'clag' whilst forming the 1805 Sheringham to Holt service between 'Deadmans Cutting' & A149, on the first day of the three day annual Diesel Gala 2014.

English Electric Type 1 - D8059 (visiting from the 'SVR') approaches journeys end with the 1512 Sheringham to Holt Express, during the first of three days of the 'NNR' - North Norfolk Railway's annual Summer Diesel Gala 2014.

English Electric Type 4 - D306 'ATLANTIC CONVEYOR' looking immaculate, rolls through Weybourne with the 0926 Holt to Sheringham Express on the 13.6.2014, during the annual 'NNR' - North Norfolk Railway three day Summer Diesel Gala.

Arriva Trains Wales - Trenau Arriva Cymru 'Sprinter Express' class 158828 passes over the River Leri - Afon Leri at Ynys-las (under a brooding sky) with the 1J23 1655 Crewe to Aberystwyth service (Engineering Possession between Birmingham Int. & Shrewsbury) on the 26.5.2014.

'DRS' - Direct Rail Services Class 37/4 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes' (displaying It's colourful revised version of 'Compass' livery) with 37/6 37608 & FNA 550016 forming the 6L70 0127 Crewe to Sizewell BNFL. 'Empty Coal', passing Ufford on the 20.5.2014.

Class 50007 'Hercules', Colas 56105 DIT with 47739 'Robin of Templecombe 1938-2013' at rear, form the 6E07 0859 SO Washwood Heath - Boston Docks 'empty steel' (10 IHA's), passing Gt.Hale Drove - Heckington on the 17.5.2014.

DB Schenker class 60074 'Teenage Cancer Trust' with class 31466 haul the 2E45 0940 Wansford via Yarwell Jct. to Peterborough NV. passing Longueville Jct. public foot crossing, on the second day of the annual Nene Valley Rly. Spring Diesel Gala 2014 (Fri 16th - Sun 18th May) The Gala this year has been dedicated to 19 year old Stephen Sutton whose untimely death from the disease was announced on 14th May. Despite his terminal diagnosis in Nov. 2012, he went on to tirelessly raise £3.5 million via social media for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

'ED' - Electro Diesel class 73001 with BR 100 ton brake van in tow with the 1120 Wansford to Fletton Junction passing Ermine Street - Ailsworth on the 16.5.2014. This was the locos first visit away from It's 'Dean Forest Railway' base since preservation.
