The whole tree.....

.....still many of these very tall old trees standing in this cemetery. I avoid them in high winds and the last storm we have just endured in the UK there are many branches and even whole trees blown down.

Storm damage 4

This is one of several Sorbus felled in the storm. Again it is obvious that the trees are rotten at the base. I hope that they will be replaced.

Another Beech victim. There are many left standing and I hope they remain so. However, if this one is also rotten at the base, how many more are like this?

Several of the Beech trees have been victims of the storm. It is obvious from the base that they were rotten. This did not show when they were standing.

Storm damage 1

One of many old trees the latest storm has felled. Most of those that have fallen seem to be rotten at the base and at the end of life anyway. However, this was not obvious when they were standing.

Cemetery sunset

A lovely place to walk. Unfortunatey the latest storm we had in England did some damage to a few of these. However, most of them are still standing.
